RideOn Safe Riding Guide
Your safety and the safety of those around you are our top priorities. Please follow these rules every time you ride to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable trip.
1. Before You Ride: The Essentials
Get your trip started right with this pre-ride checklist.
Confirm Your Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old and confident in your ability to safely operate our vehicles.
Perform a Safety Check: Before you go, do a quick inspection. Check the brakes, tires, and handlebars. For electric vehicles, briefly test the throttle response and check that the front and rear lights are working. If anything seems unsafe, please do not use the vehicle and report it in the app.
Plan Your Route & Check Battery: Use the app to make sure your destination is within the designated Service Area (marked with a green line). For our e-scooters and e-bikes, check the battery level to ensure you have enough power for your entire trip.
Always Wear a Helmet: Protect yourself. A helmet is your best defense against serious head injury. We strongly recommend you wear a properly fastened helmet on every ride and follow all local regulations on helmet use.
2. During Your Ride: Safety & Awareness
Stay safe and be courteous to others while you're on the move.
Use Bike Lanes & Ride with Traffic: Use designated bike lanes whenever they are available. If there isn't one, ride on the right-hand side of the road in the same direction as traffic.
Control Your Speed, Especially on Electric Vehicles: Our e-scooters and e-bikes can be quick. Always ride at a speed that is safe for the conditions. Slow down significantly when you are near pedestrians, approaching intersections, or riding on busy streets.
Yield to Pedestrians: Pedestrians always have the right of way. Give them plenty of space and be considerate. In very crowded areas, it is safer to dismount and walk your vehicle until you reach a clearer path.
Stay Alert and Focused: Pay full attention to your surroundings. Watch for cars, motorcycles, pedestrians, and road hazards like potholes. Avoid distractions like using your phone or wearing headphones in both ears.
Be Predictable: Ride in a straight line and avoid sudden swerving. Use hand signals when turning or stopping if you know them, so others can anticipate your movements.
Use Your Lights: For your safety and visibility, ensure the vehicle's lights are turned on when riding at dusk, at night, or in poor weather conditions.
3. Ending Your Ride: Proper Parking
How you park matters. Follow these rules to avoid fines and keep pathways clear.
Park Only at RideOn Hubs: Your ride must end at a designated RideOn Hub, which is clearly marked in the app. Parking outside of these hubs is not permitted.
Note: Illegally parked vehicles will incur a PHP 1,000 penalty fee.
Park with Courtesy: Park the vehicle upright using its kickstand. Position it neatly within 2 meters of the RideOn standee, making sure it does not block sidewalks, building entrances, driveways, or wheelchair ramps.
Docking and Locking at Station: To ensure your ride is properly concluded, most of our vehicles require you to return them to the docking station. Please dock the vehicle correctly and await confirmation from the station that it is securely locked.
Confirm Your Ride Has Ended: You must end the trip in the app to stop the charges. The app will require you to take a photo to confirm your vehicle is parked correctly.
4. Prohibited Actions: Key Rules to Remember
To ensure a safe and fair service for everyone, the following actions are strictly prohibited:
Do not close or force-quit the app while your trip is active. The app must remain running, even in background mode, to ensure continuous GPS tracking, accurate fare calculation, and proper communication with the vehicle.
One Rider Per Vehicle: Never carry a second person in the vehicle.
No Reckless Riding: Do not perform stunts, jumps, or race with the vehicles.
No Riding Under the Influence: Never ride while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Pay Your Fare: Your ride must be paid in full immediately after completion through the app.
